Orientation Turns One

Milestones have always been a time of reflection for me, and as a career over-thinker, I happen to love self analysis.

Orientation recently turned a year old which got me thinking about firsts.  The idea behind the book was introductions for first-time readers.  But this story was also a first for me in other ways.

Orientation marked the first time I introduced grey scale shading to the Retail Sunshine series which I believe has made a huge difference visually.  This book was also the first one to be published since my big move to Austin over 4 years ago.

I have always valued bodies of work that show cohesiveness and consistency but it’s also important to recognize the milestones and first moments that blaze the trail.

No doubt there will be more firsts along the way and I look forward to seeing where the path leads from here!
